Explore and experience the foundations of Yin Yoga and the elements of a supportive embodied sound experience in this four-day teacher training at Mind Body Hum with Leah Adams and Michael Liau. Yin Yoga is a meditative and centering yoga practice that is often described as the other half of exercise. It is a complementary practice to more active styles of yoga, supporting maintenance of mobility, and an opportunity to explore mindfulness and the more subtle aspects of a yoga practice. Yin Yoga is both ancient and modern, designed to enliven the tissues, soften and steady the heart, and enhance and balance our energetic system. Sound has been used for centuries by various cultures to promote and facilitate meditation and meditative practices. This training introduces modern sound baths as a supportive container for encouraging the contemplative aspects of a Yin Yoga practice.
This Yin Yoga and Sound Bath Immersion offers a blend of Yin Yoga classes, sound immersions, lectures, and hands-on exploration.
Our training curriculum covers the following topics:
Classic Yin Poses (benefits, considerations & cautions, body types, modifications, variations, sequencing)
Benefits of Yin Yoga
Introduction to deep listening and sound baths
Hands-on play with gongs, crystal and Tibetan singing bowls
Elements of a supportive auditory experience
History of gongs and singing bowls
Movements of the hips and spine
Biolelectricity and the subtle body
Exploring sensation (tension, compression, opening, edges, discomfort, pain)
